Hi there! Are you ready to become a suggested user on Poshmark, but you don’t know what it takes? Well, what are you waiting for? I’ll tell you how!

Two years ago I became a suggested user on Poshmark, and let me say that it was the best could have happened to me! What has it done for me?

• Increased my number of followers exponentially
• Boosted my sales
• Gave me the opportunity to co-host a Posh party

Now, what does it take to become a suggested user?

REPRESENT. Being part of the Poshmark community is all about being in good standing.

• Be welcoming: welcome new Poshmark users with warmth, support, and positive attitudes. Help them feel part of the family.
• Help out: lend a hand to Poshers who might still be new. Offer tips on how to be successful, how to deal with bad transactions, or even show your experiences on Poshmark.
• Be supportive: showing your support to other Poshers can come in different colors. You can share their closets not just to the Poshmark feed, but also on other social media like Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. If they’ve been selected to co-host a part or if one of their items have been chosen as a host pick, congratulate them!
• Follow the RULES: A major part about representing Poshmark is following the rules. Make sure that you are knowledgeable about what items you can and cannot sell. For more information on Poshmark Rules click here.

KEEP IT FULL. Maintain a closet that has a lot to offer.

• What is a full closet? A full closet consists of at least 25+ items that are up for sale. This does not include items labeled as “not for sale”, or posts about yourself or your closet.
• Offer variety. Usually the Poshers that visit your closet are not always going to be your size. Sometimes they are simply browsing and happened to stumble upon your closet. When you have one-size items in your closet, it gives an universality advantage for potential buyers. For instance, have jewelry, hats, bags, or sunglasses.
• Running out? If you’re selling out on items fast, always go over your closet at home and see if there are any items you no longer use. It is a great way to organize, release stress, and get rid of clutter… while you make money off of it! Thus, list new items as soon as you spot something in your closet that you keep shoving to the side.

SOCIALIZE. Let’s talk about it.

• Along with being in good standing with the community, you should also socialize. Get to know other Poshers in the community. Make friends!
• Browse. Like. Share. Yes, window shopping is also a form of socializing… at least on Poshmark! As you browse, like, and share items, you get noticed by your activity. Poshmark loves it when you share great closets that represent Poshmark in a positive way. They also love AMAZING finds!

PERSONA: What’s your style?

• Everyone’s got style. Whether your classy, laid back, glam, or boho chic, show your personality style in your closet! It’s kind of like branding yourself. Show it with by styling your covershots!
• About Me: Almost every great closet on Poshmark has an About Me post. Do you? If you don’t, this is a great way to talk a little bit about yourself. What do you do? What kind of brands do you like? Do you have pets or children? What are your hobbies or goals?
• Rules: A closet that has a post about rules gives Poshmark and other co-hosts an easier time to choose you as a potential Host Pick, Co-Host, and Suggested User! Does your closet follow Poshmark rules?

PHOTOGRAPHY. Who said you had to be a professional?

• Clear Covershots. Poshmark loves clear covershots for each of your items. They make your closet look clean, color precise, and simply eye engaging. **I take all my photos with my iPhone or iPad, and that is good enough for me.
• Great Light. I talk a little bit about this topic HERE. Make sure to take photos where you have natural sunlight.
• Don’t blur it! Laziness doesn’t always take you far. Usually, a Posher who cannot tell if the item is brand new (regardless if that is what you wrote in your description) or if it has any nicks, scrapes, stains, etc. Thus, they will probably not buy it if it is blurry.
• Work it! Yup, you’re the star model in your closet! Flaunt those curves, accessorize that little black dress, and personalize your photos! Don’t be afraid to have fun!

STELLAR SALES. Rewarding achievements.

• The more positive sales feedback and ratings you get, the closer you will get to becoming a Suggested User.
• Check your My Closet Stats by clicking on My Selling Tools on your menu. Try to earn these labels:
  • Top 10% Seller!– How much have you earned?
  • Fast Shipper!– On average, how long does it take you ship items?
  • Top-rated Seller!– Your average ratings should be 4-5 stars.
  • Top 10% Sharer!– How often are you sharing in the community?
  • Posh Mentor! – How many new closets have you help get discovered?

Well, there you have it! It might seem too tedious and like it takes hard work, but if you are a Poshmark addict (or you simply spend time browsing for stuff on Poshmark), then you’re pretty much halfway there.
